Yamelkis Diaz, MSN, APRN, NP-C, is an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Sub-Investigator at NewGen Health Group with more than 20 years of healthcare experience spanning critical care, hospital medicine, home health administration, and clinical research. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from West Coast University and maintains active Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licensure. 

Ms. Diaz currently serves as a Charge Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Jackson South Community Hospital, where she manages critically ill patients requiring advanced therapies, including cardiac catheterization support, Impella devices, induced hypothermia, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and continuous renal replacement therapies. Her extensive critical care background also includes experience at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Medical Intensive Care Unit, caring for patients with complex multisystem disease and acute medical conditions. 

As a Sub-Investigator at NewGen Health Group, Ms. Diaz brings exceptional expertise in patient assessment, safety monitoring, protocol adherence, and management of medically complex patient populations. Her hospital-based critical care experience, combined with her bilingual English and Spanish communication skills, supports the successful execution of cardiovascular, pulmonary, nephrology, metabolic, and acute care clinical trials. Sponsors and CROs value her ability to ensure high-quality patient care, accurate data collection, and outstanding participant retention throughout the research process.
